In my last blog, I honored my dad's passing anniversary. Today, I dedicate this entry to my mom on her 101st birthday. Thirty-four years ago, we celebrated her last birthday in the hospital as she fought bone cancer. I arranged a singing telegram with a gray elephant in a pink tutu, performing "There is no Mom like you" to the tune of "There's No Business Like Show Business." She smiled brightly and never complained about her pain.

"Our family argued like all families, but we always felt safe and secure in warmth and love. There was always fun at Christmas time and other family gatherings. Mom, the Italian one, was the glue of the family. " insert from "Shake the Dust Off Your Feet and Walk" available on Amazon.

Mom was genuinely the glue that kept our family united. Our home was always a warm and inviting place for all. She loved cooking and was exceptionally talented at it. Those are cherished memories. I miss her deeply—her voice, her hugs, her smile. She endured her own struggles and pain during her fight with cancer. I believe she is now with God, watching over me and has been with me through my life's hardships, which I've shared in my memoir, "Shake the Dust Off Your Feet and Walk," available on Amazon.

Happy Birthday, Mom. Continue to smile and dance in heaven with Dad. I'm thankful for having you as my mom and grateful to God for the 23 years we shared. Sending hugs.

You're the best and missed by many.

XOXO
