LOST AND FOUND

Today, I CELEBRATE with JOY 10 years of sobriety and give thanks to God for giving me a new life. God did for me what I could not do for myself. Once, I was lost, and now I can say I am found.

“My official sobriety date is April 2, 2015. When my journey of recovery began, it was not easy. All the pain, all the hurts and brokenness of my past, everything I was holding onto rushed into my awareness. Truth replaced deception. The discovery that alcohol was not my friend tripled the pain.” Insert from my memoir, "Shake the Dust Off Your Feet and Walk.”

“The preverbal saying “like ripping off a Band-Aid” comes to mind. It was more like gorilla tape being torn off a third-degree burn. My wound was exposed. I felt raw and fragile when I joined AA.” Insert from, "Shake the Dust Off Your Feet and Walk."

“April 2, 2015. From that day forward, members would come up to me and say, “Finally! You are in the right place. Welcome.” They all knew I belonged there right from the start. The wisdom of the rooms is you must admit to yourself this is where you belong.” - insert from “Shake the Dust Off Your Feet and Walk.”

I do belong in the rooms of AA. Most importantly, I belong to God. It is He who has been with me through it all. Ten years ago, my new journey with God began. It has been an emotional roller coaster. Presently, I am living a life of my wildest dreams. God, the AA program, and the fellowship continue to help me to live life happily, joyfully, and freely one day at a time.

I encourage all to share my story, my memoir, "Shake the Dust Off Your Feet and Walk," available on Amazon. There is hope and strength. Do not give up. Know that God is with us.

Forever Grateful,

Gina
